Saturn Return
An Astrological Coming of Age
Saturn Return is the astrological transition from adolescence to adulthood. It is a time to strip away all of the things, thoughts and actions in your life that no longer serve you—a time for you to find alignment between your physical, mental, spiritual and emotional being.
Somewhere between the ages of 28-30, Saturn returns to the same position that it was when we were born. It can affect people for an entire year, during which time many people feel very dramatic shifts in their lives. Focus, adaptability, and humor are its antidotes.
Turmoil and Bliss
In approximately the 29th year of life, the divorce rates, change of career rates, make big moves rates skyrockets. In Western Psychology, this time correlates with one of the common points of an identity crisis, or a period of questioning who you are and what your purpose is. For many, shedding the things in our lives that don’t serve us anymore, and finding alignment between our heads, our hearts and our bodies is hard and troublesome. We’ve become attached to certain lifestyles and goals that may not suit us.
Many people look back at this time in their lives as a time of grief that they would rather not re-live. Those who have been more true to themselves, and consistently shed the expectations of societal norms, will find this time less tumultuous.
Regardless of the discomfort during your Saturn Return year, the outcome is wonderful—a more confident, directed, aligned YOU!
My Saturn Return
My Saturn Return begins in January, and I’ve felt the pull of my Saturn Return strongly for the last six months. I’ve literally disconnected from all of my commitments (my career, my relationship, my home), which allows me the time and energy to do something I’ve always wanted. I am planning a trip around the world to volunteer, raise money and awareness for issues that I believe in, and explore how others live happily and healthily.
I have been so blessed to live in and visit so many beautiful places so far. I can’t wait to see how the world continues to astonish me. I will continue my quest for inner peace and alignment between my physical, mental, emotional and spiritual being. I hope you follow me, and continue to send me love and blessings.
Special Note
How will you spend your Saturn Return? Saturn returns approximately every 29 years, which means, whatever you don’t deal with between birth to 29 re-surfaces again at around 58 and 87.
